Margaret Horton Pearson, 92, of 701 Monroe St., Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

Mrs. Pearson was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late James Seth Horton and Mary Whitfield Horton. Mrs. Pearson was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church and a former member of Smith United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Leslie Pearson, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Margaret Copeland and her husband, Robert W. ''Butch'', of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Haywood Leslie Pearson, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Robert W. Copeland, Jr. and his wife, Betsy, of Fayetteville, Alice Anne Wilson of Roanoke Rapids, and Jeremy Pearson of Pittsburgh, PA; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Ashley Delbridge, Dustin Dwight Wilson, Mary Allison Copeland, Noah Patrick Copeland, Cameron Scott Wilson, and Meredith Anne Wilson.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday, March 4. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Formo officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
